Solo Mobile is a brand operated by Bell Mobility using the Bell Mobility wireless infrastructure.Solo is positioned to compete in the Canadian cell phone market as a prepaid alternative to both Fido and Virgin Mobile.After Fido announced "by the second billing" Solo decided to pursue the same billing mechanism, resulting in a move which will always compare these two brands.
Solo Mobile operates on the CDMA network.
Their prepaid service supports the following phones manafcturers: Nokia, LG, Sanyo, Motorola and Samsung. On average, handsets are slightly more expensive but Solo Mobile make up for this with reduced rate costs.Prepaid text messaging costs 15 cents per text. Call display, message centre, call forwarding and call waiting are offered as standard features.
Solo Mobile has many additional options which are available for an additional cost – approximately $3 per option.
